Portraits are about people. And a portrait photographer uses their cameras to tell personal stories. Portrait photography is the art of capturing the inherent character of your subject within a photograph.

Great portrait photography is a result of combining the right technique with an artist's expression. An amazing portrait allows us to connect with people we may otherwise, never know. It also preserves a time, place and feeling to be relived many times in the future.

My Approach

Portraiture is about capturing more than an individuals physical appearance, it is also about telling a story ... revealing the individual's spirit and personality.

To accomplish the best results it is important to work closely with each client so they become relaxed during the session, as that is when their true personality will shine. I work most often with non-professional "models", even people who have felt that they never photograph well. With a careful approach, I can bring a comfortable, secure atmosphere so wonderful images are the result.

Many of my clients choose to keep images I've taken on their websites, business cards, marketing materials, and social media, years after they were taken. They feel they never looked better!
